Today - Tuesday, May 16th - is election day. Local elected officials have a large impact on our everyday quality of life in this community. Their decisions are often much more immediate and consequential to us than that of state and national leaders. So please don't forget to vote!
For the East Penn School board, I recommend voting for Levinson, Jankowski, Klotz, Kelly, and Ford. This is bi-partisan group of experienced leaders and well-qualified newcomers that I believe will be best for our community.
Why? I've shared my thinking in two earlier posts:
Here are two journalistic overviews of the race:
And here is the League of Women Voters' Voter Guide:
Polls are open until 8pm today. If you're unsure where to vote, you can lookup your assigned location here. If you have a completed mail-in ballot, deliver it by 4:30pm to the drop-box located at Macungie Borough Building, or by 8pm to the drop-box at the Lehigh County Government Center in Allentown (17 South 7th Street).
Whether or not you support the school board candidates I suggest, please vote today. Local elections are the key opportunity for all of us to have a say to be in the decisions about our community.
Take care,
Ziad
