Please vote for Christine Price for the East Penn school board on May 20. I have known Chris (as her friends call her) for many years now, having first met when our sons trained and raced with the same cycling team in middle and high school. I've thus spent many hours with her on the bleachers at the velodrome in Fogelsville, the gym in the PPL Center, and even traveling to the cycling track outside of Toronto. In that time we've chatted about all kinds of different things, many of them touching on the shared value we place on education and the community. She is smart, generous, and level-headed. She asks thoughtful questions and is direct and honest when she speaks. This is why I know she would be such a good board member and advocate for all of us.
Both of Chris' kids are recent graduates of East Penn, so she has direct knowledge of both the strengths and the challenges our district is facing right now. And as someone who has been a leader for student affairs at Kutztown University for many years, she brings to our district professional experience with supporting the diverse range of students and families in our public schools.
Chris isn't a politician and she's not the type of person who is comfortable with a lot of self-promotion. I'm grateful for her willingness to run for the East Penn school board in this day and age, when it can sometimes feel like the loudest and nastiest voices dominate our public conversations. Join me in voting for Christine Price for school board. And I ask too that you share this info with your family, neighbors, friends, and colleagues.
